I have been teaching for over 15 years; I have worked as a piano teacher, ensemble instructor, and accompanist in multiple private schools such as:

• Artebi (Bilbao)
• El Aula de Musics (Barcelona)
• Public conservatories (Andres Isasi/Getxo, CP Escudero/San Sebastián, Superior de Pamplona, CRI Michel Slobo/Paris).
• Piano-Jazz and improvisation teacher at the Charles Koechlin Conservatory, in the south of Paris.

I currently work as an educator at the Conservatorio Superior de Málaga.

I studied until the final year of middle grade (classical) at the Arriaga Conservatory in Bilbao, and graduated with a “Bachelor for the Arts Degree” from Berklee, a title that was recognized as equivalent to the “Superior Music Degree in Jazz.”

Additionally, in 2013, I obtained the “State Diploma in Music Education” (120 ECTS) and the equivalence to the “Certificat d’Aptitude” (CA) in Jazz Piano Teaching in Paris in 2014, which are the two post-graduate pedagogy diplomas required to teach in public conservatories in France.

Program “Classics in Jazz Key”

Designed for classical music or Jazz/Modern Music students of any age interested in refining their skills in improvisation, harmony, piano technique, arrangements, and general musical culture.

In this program, we will explore arrangements made on works by authors of Western music tradition (Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Albeniz, Scriabin, Brahms, Bach, and others) in Jazz, Fusion, Latin, Funk styles, as well as different forms of improvisation and accompaniment on these.

Masterclass Program

I have also conducted numerous “Masterclasses” in various countries (Spain, France, USA, Ecuador, Germany, Portugal, …) with diverse artists and professors such as Oscar Stagnaro, Jaleel Shaw, Bruce Arkin, Patrick Cornelius, Thomas Walter-Maria, Xavi Reija, Ramon Angel Rey, Jorge Perez Albela, Gilad Hekselman, Edward Perez, Borja Barrueta, Victor Celada, “Gere”, covering the following styles:

• Traditional/contemporary Jazz.
• Latin, Brazilian.
• Funk-Pop-Fusion.
• Classical for jazz musicians/Jazz for classical musicians.

I have taught both beginners and amateurs as well as future professionals, and some of my students have successfully passed entrance exams to prestigious institutions such as:

• Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (CNSMDP)
• Hochschule für Musik Hans Eissler Berlin,
• Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC)
